Pomimo mocno nagłośnionego w prasie przybycia do Londynu, gdzie miał wystąpić w epizodycznej roli w filmie „Just For Fun", drugi amerykański przebój numer l Vintona, „Blue Velvet", został początkowo zignorowany na Wyspach. Jednak kolejny przebój rodem ze Stanów, odkurzona wersja piosenki Vaughana Monroe „There I've Said It Again", trafił w 1963 r. na 34. miejsce angielskiej listy przebojów. Vinton występował w klubach do 1968 r., kiedy to jego wersje piosenek z repertuaru dawnych rywali: „I Love How You Love Me" Jimmy'ego Crawforda, „Take Good Of My Baby" Bobby'cgo Vee i „To Know Her Is To Love Her" Teddy Bears zaprowadziły go prosto do „gorącej setki". Podobna formuła sprawdziła się w przypadku nagranego w 1972 r. utworu z repertuaru Briana Hylanda, „Sealed With A Kiss".
Na szczyty list przebojów powrócił wraz z międzynarodowym hitem „My Melody Of Love", którego był współautorem.
W 1992 r. Vinton zaśpiewał w duecie z 96-letnim aktorem komediowym Georgem Burnsem na jego płycie As Time Goes By, a rok później otworzył w Branson w stanie Missouri własny teatr o nazwie The Bobby Vinton Blue Velvet Theater.
