LeVert

LeVert był amerykańskim zespołem wokalnym R&B z Cleveland w stanie Ohio w Stanach
Zjednoczonych. Założony w 1983 roku, LeVert składał się z Seana i Geralda Levertów (synów Eddiego Leverta, założyciela i wokalisty zespołu wokalnego R&B/Soul O'Jays) oraz Marca Gordona.

  Zespół wydał swój pierwszy singiel „I'm Still” dla wytwórni Tempre Harry'ego Coombesa. W 1985 roku ukazał się ich debiutancki album „I Get Hot”, na którym znalazły się utwory, których wokale były silnie porównywane do głosu ojca Seana i Geralda Levertów, Eddiego.  W 1986 roku ukazał się album „Bloodline”, na którym znalazł się pierwszy wielki przebój zespołu w stylu R&B „(Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop) Goes My Mind”. Jednak kolejny album zespołu, „The Big Throwdown” z 1987 roku, odniósł jeszcze większy sukces, dzięki przebojowi R&B „Casanova”, który zajął pierwsze miejsce na listach przebojów (miejsce 5.) i zapewnił zespołowi miejsce w pierwszej dziesiątce w Wielkiej Brytanii. Z tego albumu wydano również dwa kolejne single R&B, które znalazły się w pierwszej piątce: „My Forever Love” i „Sweet Sensation”. 

 Sukces zespołu kontynuował kolejny album z 1988 roku, „Just Coolin'”, który był nominowany w kategorii „Najlepszy Album R&B/Urban Contemporary” do nagrody Soul Train Music Awards w 1989 roku. Zarówno „The Big Throwdown”, jak i „Just Coolin'” uzyskały status złotej płyty. Od lat 90-tych Gerald zaczął dzielić swój czas między LeVertem a karierą solową,ale zespół wydał jeszcze trzy albumy, a Rhino Records w 2001 roku wydało album z największymi przebojami. 

Gerald Levert zmarł w listopadzie 2006 roku z powodu przedawkowania leków na receptę i bez recepty. Sean Levert zmarł w marcu 2008 roku w wyniku połączenia sarkoidozy i odstawienia Xanaxu podczas pobytu w więzieniu hrabstwa Cuyahoga.
