Przyjęli nazwę "A-Sharp Trio",póżniej "Four Bluebirds", lecz nie dokonali żadnych nagrań.Rok póżniej przenoszą się do Hollywood,a w 1947r pozyskują nowego członka zespołu Bobby'ego Nunna [ur.20.09.1925r-zm.5.11.1986r],który wcześniej współpracował z Johnny Otisem.W 1953r do grupy doszlusował jej nowy lider Grady Chapman [ur.1.10.1929r],który niedługo po tym zostaje zastąpiony przez Carla Gardnera,zespół jednak ukonstytuował się jako sekstet po powrocie Gardnera.Chapman nagrywa także solo dla Imperial.
W 1955r Nunn i Gardner odchodzą do formującego się właśnie Coasters.The Robins nagrał dwa przeboje-pierwszy w 1950r "If It's So Baby" razem z orkiestrą Johnny Otisa dla Sawoy i "Smokey Joe's Cafe" nagrane w 1955r dla Atco.Innymi członkami grupy byli też H.B. Barnum (w latach 1956-1957);Bobby Sheen (1958-1961).
