Reba McEntire

Reba McEntire, (ur. 28 III 1954 w Chockie, USA), wokalistka, autorka piosenek, producent muzyczny, aktorka - jedna z najlepszych wykonawczyń country w latach 1980-90.

Z biegiem czasu zamiłowanie do muzyki jednak zwyciężyło. Ich piosenka z 1971r, zatytułowana The Ballad of John McEntire, była nawet lokalnym przebojem. Marzenia o zawodowej karierze kwartetu rodzinnego rozwiały się w 1974r, kiedy Reba zaśpiewała hymn amerykański podczas finałów rodeo w Oklahoma City.

Z pomocą Reda Steagalla, zauroczonego umiejętnościami i urodą wokalistki, podpisała kontrakt fonograficzny z Mercury Records w 1975r.

A pod koniec 1982r wokalistka odnotowała pierwszy, wielki sukces - piosenka Can't Even Get the Blues dotarła do pierwszego miejsca na liście bestsellerów country.

P. Cline zginęła w katastrofie samolotowej, a McEntire cudem jej uniknęła w 1991, kiedy lecący innym samolotem zespół muzyczny zginął podczas katastrofy lotniczej w Teksasie. Tragedia ta zbiegła się z wydaniem jej najlepszego artystycznie krążka - For My Broken Heart. W 1994 opublikowała autobiografię: Reba: My Story, która utrzymała się na liście bestsellerowych książek "New York Timesa" przez 15 tygodni.
