Paula Abdul

Paula ABDUL- (19.06.1962, Los Angeles, Kalifornia, Stany Zjednoczone) — voc: autorka tekstów; tancerka, choreografka. Jej matka, Lorraine Abdul, Kanadyjka pochodzenia żydowskiego, była asystentką słynnego reżysera hollywoodzkiego — Billy'ego Wildera. Ojciec, Harry Abdul, którego przodkowie przybyli do Stanów Zjednoczonych z Syrii i Brazylii, zajmował się handlem bydłem. Ukończyła renomowana Van Nuys High School (w szkolnej orkiestrze grała na flecie).
Od 1981 do 1984 tańczyła i zdobywała pierwsze doświadczenia choreograficzne w zespole Los Angeles Laker Girls. Odniosła sukces jako autorka układów tanecznych do teledysków gwiazd, m.in. Janet JACKSON, George'a MICHAELA, DURAN DURAN, WHITESNAKE i ZZ TOP, oraz kilku filmów, np. Can't Buy Me Love (1987, reż. Steve Rash).
Jako piosenkarka zadebiutowała płyta "Forever your girl" z nowocześnie opracowanym, efektownym repertuarem dyskotekowym, którego głównymi twórcami byli Oliver Leiber i Elliot Wolff, np. Knocked Out, Straight Up. Forever Your Girl, Cold Hearted, (It's Just) The Way That You Love Me oraz One Or The Other (jedyna w zestawie piosenka z jej tekstem). Wspólnie z The Wild Pair firmowała przebój Opposites Attract.
