Lynn Anderson-właściwie Lynn Rene Anderson,ur. 26.09.1947r w
Grand Forks,USA,wokalistka, autorka piosenek i gitarzystka, znana przede
wszystkim dzięki wielkiemu przebojowi Rose Garden. Jest córką
pary znanych kompozytorów country Caseya i Liz Andersonów. Rodzina
Andersonów przeniosła się na początku lat 50. z Północnej Dakoty do
Kalifornii. W szkole średniej fascynowała ją jazda konna, miała na tym
polu znaczące sukcesy. Miłość do koni charakteryzuje tę wybitną
wykonawczynię country do dzisiaj.
Jako siedemnastolatka uczestniczyła w konkursie piosenkarskim, co
zaowocowało udziałem w popularnym w Kalifornii telewizyjnym programie
muzycznym Lawrence'a Welka. Wkrótce została gwiazdą tego programu i podpisała kontrakt płytowy z wydawnictwem Chart Records, dla którego nagrała w 1967 płytę Ride, Ride, Ride zawierającą przebojową piosenkę Too Much of You. Przez kolejne trzy lata nagrała przeszło sto utworów, wśród których są takie przeboje jak Big Girls Don't Cry czy That's a No-No, Promises, Promises.
Po ślubie z kompozytorem i producentem muzycznym R. Glennem Suttonem
przeniosła się do Hendersonville w Tennessee, by znaleźć się bliżej
Nashville, stolicy country.W 1970 zawarła kontrakt z wydawnictwem Columbia i osiągnęła olbrzymi sukces dzięki nagraniu piosenki Rose Garden, kompozycji Joe Southa. Zajmowała ona przez kilka miesięcy pierwsze miejsce wśród amerykańskich list przebojów country i muzyki pop, a wkrótce również w kilkunastu innych krajach. Wtedy nagrodzona została Grammy w kategorii najlepszej wykonawczyni country. W latach 70. koncertowała z zespołem The Country Store, z którym odniosła liczne sukcesy. Była częstym gościem programów transmitowanych przez telewizję z Grand Ole Opry, uczestniczyła w koncercie inaugurującym prezydenturę Richarda Nixona, a także w telewizyjnych programach The Tonight Show Johnny'ego Carsona, The Ed Sulliuan Show czy Dean Martin Music Country. W późniejszych latach nagrywała dla wydawnictw MCA i Mercury, nie osiągając sukcesu na miarę Rose Garden.
