Boston Pops Orchestra

Arthur Fiedler (ur. 17 grudnia 1894r Boston- zm. 10 lipca 1979r) był przez długi okres dyrygentem Boston Pops Orchestra, orkiestry symfonicznej, która specjalizowała się w muzyce popularnej i przeróbkach muzyki klasycznej. Dorastał w Bostonie, i uczęszczał na Boston Latin School , aż ojciec na emeryturze przeniósł się do Wiednia w 1910 roku. Rodzina wkrótce przeniosła się ponownie do Berlina , gdzie w latach 1911-15 młody Fiedler studiował grę na skrzypcach w Royal Academy of Music (Hochschule für Musik Berlin) pod okiem Willy Hessa . Fiedler powrócił do Bostonu na początku I wojny światowej . W 1915 wstąpił do Boston Symphony Orchestra pod dyrekcją Karla Mucka jako skrzypek. Pracował również jako pianista, organista i perkusista.

W 1924 Fiedler założył Boston Sinfonietta, kameralną orkiestrę z członków Boston Symphony i rozpoczął serię bezpłatnych koncertów na świeżym powietrzu. W 1946 roku dyrygował Boston Pops w jednym z pierwszych nagrań amerykańskich poświęconych fragmentom muzyki filmowej, Dmitri Tiomkina do Duel in the Sun ,filmu O. Davida Selznicka , RCA Victor wydała 10 calowy album wraz z fotografiami z filmu.

20 czerwca 1947r, nagrywa Gaîté Parisienne Jacquesa Offenbacha ,który został wydany przez RCA jako jej pierwszy długogrający klasyczny album (RCA Victor LM-1001), w 1950 roku. Nagrał tą samą muzykę w 1954 roku w stereo i zaczął tworzyć regularne nagrania stereo w 1956 roku. Wiele nagrań Fiedlera zostały wydane jako EP-ki, począwszy od 1949 roku, takich jak Czajkowskiego Marche slave i Ketelbey'a In a Persian Market (RCA Victor ERA-2). Fiedler dyrygował w ceremonii otwarcia Walt Disney World w 1971 roku. Występował także w licznych transmisjach Evening at Pops , prowadzone przez stacje PBS w całym kraju.
W dniu 10 stycznia 1977r, Fiedlerowi wręczono Prezydencki Medal Wolności przyznany przez prezydenta Geralda Forda .

W 1942r Fiedler poślubił Ellen Bottomley i mieli troje dzieci: Johannę , Deborah, i Petera. Fiedler umarł w Brookline w stanie Massachusetts , w wieku 84 lat w dniu 10 lipca 1979 roku. Nie czuł się dobrze jakiś czas i doznał ataku serca po występie w dniu 5 maja 1979 roku. Wdowa po nim, Ellen Bottomley Fiedler, zmarła 25 października 1984r, w Framingham, Massachusetts. Miała 70 lat.

Webster Booth

Webster Booth (ur. 21 stycznia 1902 r. - zm. 21 czerwca 1984 r.) Był angielskim tenorem , najlepiej zapamiętanym jako partner  w duetach Anne Ziegler .   Był także jednym z najlepszych tenorów swojego pokolenia i był wybitnym solistą oratoryjnym .

Był chórzystą w katedrze w Lincoln (1911–1915). Debiutował na scenie zawodowej w D'Oyly Carte Opera Company , gdzie występował w latach 1923–1927. Debiutował na West Endzie w Trzech muszkieterach   w 1930 r. Zaczął nagrywać dla HMV w 1929 r. i dokonał ponad 500 nagrań solowych i wielu nagrań w duecie z Anne Ziegler. On i Ziegler rozpoczęli słynną karierę duetu   w 1940 roku. Wystąpili w trzech sztukach muzycznych, The Vagabond King (1943), „Sweet Yesterday” (1945) i koncertowali z „And so to Bed” (1953–1954) i pojawili się w kilku filmach muzycznych w latach 40-tych. Wspólnie często prowadzili programy radiowe. W 1948 roku odbyli udaną trasę koncertową po Nowej Zelandii i Australii.

Kiedy w latach 50-tych zmieniły się upodobania muzyczne, w 1956 r. zdecydowali się na emigrację do Południowej Afryki, gdzie kontynuowali pracę sceniczną oraz nauczali śpiewu w studiu w Johannesburgu. Wrócili do Wielkiej Brytanii w 1978 roku, gdzie pracowali w radiu BBC, występowali w telewizji w Russell Harty Show i występowali osobiście w całej Wielkiej Brytanii w „An Evening with Anne Ziegler and Webster Booth”.

Po 1962 utracił popularność. Nadal nagrywał, ale przede wszystkim pieśni religijne. Wystapił w wielu filmach, m.in. Bernardine (1957, reż. Simple Plan

Simple Plan to zespół pochodzący z Kanady.W jego skład wchodzą: Pierre Bouvier (wokal), Chuck Comeau (perkusja), Jeff Stinco (gitara), Sebastien Lefebvre (gitara) oraz David Desrosiers (bass).

Początki kapeli sięgają połowy lat 90, kiedy to Chuck, Jeff i Sebastien, kumple ze szkoły średniej, postanowili założyć zespół. Do pełnego składu brakowało im wokalisty i basisty. W tym celu grupa przeprowadziła liczne castingi i przesłuchała wiele osób, ale nikogo nie wybrano. To właśnie wtedy

Chuck przypomniał sobie o dawnym znajomym z poprzedniej kapeli "Reset". Pierre, bo o nim mowa, zgodził się bez wachania, ale nie chciał grać na basie. Na szczęście zgłosił się wtedy David, który dodatkowo wzbogacił grupe o drugi głos. Gdy już zespół był w pełnym składzie, zabrano się za tworzenie muzyki i pisanie tekstów. Po ciężkiej pracy w roku 2001 ukazał się pierwszy singiel "Worst Day Ever", a niedługo potem debiutancka płyta "No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls". Zespół od razu zyskał spore grono fanów i wyruszył w różne trasy koncertowe (Warped Tour, Edge Fest itd.).

W 2003 roku Simple Plan ponownie przypomniał o sobie nagrywając piosenkę "Don't wanna think about you" do filmu "Scooby-Doo". W październiku 2004 ukazała się ich kolejna płyta pt. "Still Not Getting Any...". Pod koniec 2005 ukazała się ich kolejna płyta nazwana "MTV Hard Rock Live".

Muzyka proponowana przez Simple Plan to duża dawka energii i dobrej zabawy połączone z poważnymi, pełnymi uczuć i przekazu tekstami o wspomnieniach z dzieciństwa, problemach i młodzieńczych rozterkach. Zespół charakteryzuje się lżejszą odmianą punka, może nawet zbliżoną do popu, ale na koncertach wciąga wszystkich w wir dobrej zapawy i pozytywnych wibracji.

W 2003 r. podpisał kontrakt z niezależną wytwórnią Trill Entertainment . W 2005 r. wszedł na scenę hip-hopową z „Gimme That” z udziałem Bun B. Jego piosenki „Bad Bitch” i „Swerve” były prezentowane na Gangsta Musik , jego albumie grupowym z Lil Boosie w 2003 roku, a także w filmie z 2005 roku Hustle & Flow . Drugi album Webbie, Savage Life 2 , został wydany na początku 2008 roku wraz z przebojowym singlem „ Independent ” z udziałem Lil Boosie i Lil Phat .

Webbie urodziła się w Baton Rouge w Luizjanie . Jako solowy utwór Webbie „ Give Me That ” z Bun B był często występował w mixtape'ach, jako wytwórnia Trill Entertainment zyskiwała na popularności i została podpisana na umowę dystrybucyjną z Asylum Records wraz z (Webbie). Po tym, jak został  podpisany kontrakt, jego debiutancki album Savage Life został wydany w 2005 r. debiutując na ósmym miejscu na liście Billboard 200 w USA.

Trill rozpocząła umowę o podpisanie umowy z Webbie z  wytwórnią Atlantic Records i odniósł sukces. Singiel z jego następnego albumu, Savage Life 2 , zawiera „ Independent ” z udziałem Boosie i Lil Phat . To jak dotąd najbardziej udana piosenka Webbie,  osiągając dziewiątą pozycję na liście Billboard Hot 100 . Webbie wydał trzeci album studyjny Savage Life 3 w dniu 15 listopada 2011 roku w Trill Ent. W październiku 2010 roku nakręcił niezależny film biograficzny Ghetto Stories z Lil Boosie, oparty na jego życiu i lirycznych motywach.  Wystąpił także w filmie muzycznym „Video Girl” z udziałem aktorki Meagan Good .

George Strait

Prawdziwe nazwisko George Harvey Strait. Amerykański piosenkarz country. Określany jest mianem „Króla country”, przez wielu nazywany żywą legendą tego gatunku muzyki. Słynie z unikalnego charakteru swoich kompozycji. Otrzymał wiele nagród w prestiżowych konkursach country. Wydał 25 albumów studyjnych i 88 singli. 24 płyty pokryły się platyną. Piosenkarz udzielał się również kilkakrotnie jako aktor.

 

Urodził się 18 maja 1952 roku w Poteet w Teksasie. Dorastał w pobliskim miasteczku Pearsall. Muzyką interesował się już w najmłodszych latach. Grał w różnych zespołach. Z początku interesował się rock and rollem, z czasem jego preferencje zwróciły się ku country. Na szerokim rynku muzycznym George pojawił się na dobre w roku 1980. Wtedy wydał swój pierwszy singiel „Unwound”. Piosenka stała się hitem i została włączona do debiutanckiego albumu wokalisty - „Strait Country”, który na rynku muzycznym ukazał się w 1981 roku. „If You're Thinking You Want a Stranger (There's One Coming Home)” oraz „Down and Out” to tytuły singli promujących płytę. Nagrania zostały bardzo dobrze przyjęte przez krytyków, którzy mówią, że muzyk przełamał popowe tendencje, jakie w tych czasach panowały w muzyce country. Cały album został nagrany w tradycyjnych countrowych dźwiękach. W przypadku Straita można spokojnie mówić o dużym sukcesie debiutanckim. Na dzień dzisiejszy krążek pokryty jest platyną.
W roku 1983 piosenkarz pierwszy raz wystąpił na Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Te koncerty stały się jednym z nieodłącznych elementów kariery muzyka. Wystąpił tam 20 razy, w sumie grał dla milionowej publiczności.

W latach 1983 - 1990 piosenkarz wydał osiem albumów, w tym dwie składanki z największymi hitami. W 1986 roku piosenkarza spotkała tragedia. Lata 1990 - 2000 przyniosły piosenkarzowi kolejne duże przeboje, a co za tym idzie prestiżowe wyróżnienia i nagrody w takich kategoriach jak - Najlepszy Wokalista Roku, Najlepszy Album, czy też Najlepsza Taneczną Piosenka.
W 1997 roku odbyła się pierwsza edycja George Strait Country Music Festival. Przez kolejne lata na deskach przewinęli się tacy artyści, jak choćby Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney i Alan Jackson.

George zakończył dekadę wydaniem albumu „Always Never the Same” (1999). Krytycy mieli bardzo umiarkowane zdanie na temat tej płyty. Jednak fanom wokalisty przypadła bardzo do gustu. A efektem tego było pokrycie się albumu platyną.

Jesień 2000 roku nie była dla artysty do końca szczęśliwa. Wtedy właśnie piosenkarz wydał płytę „George Strait”. Znalazło się na nim kilka wielkich przebojów, zebrał pozytywne recenzje, ale był do pierwszy album w karierze artysty, który nie osiągnął platynowego statutu.

W latach 2000 - 2009 piosenkarz wydał w sumie siedem albumów studyjnych. Wszystkie były nagrane w stylu country. Większość z nich otrzymała też bardzo pozytywne recenzje od krytyków muzycznych.
Ostatnią, jak dotąd, wydana płytą jest „Troubadour” z 2008 roku. Krążek został bardzo pozytywnie przyjęty, co w konsekwencji pokryło go platyną.
W lipcu 2009 roku George Strait otrzymał wyróżnienie od Akademii Muzyki Country w kategorii Artysta Dekady.
11 sierpnia 2009 roku na rynek muzyczny trafił najnowszy album artysty, zatytułowany „Twang”.
