Don Robertson

Donald Irwin Robertson (ur. 5 grudnia 1922r - zm. 16 marca 2015r) był amerykańskim autorem tekstów piosenek i pianistą, występującym głównie w country i popularnych gatunkach muzycznych . Został wprowadzony do Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame w 1972 roku. Jako wykonawca trafił do pierwszej dziesiątki w USA z „ The Happy Whistler ” w 1956 roku. W tym samym roku utwór osiągnął 8. miejsce na brytyjskiej liście przebojów singli .  Sprzedał się w ponad milionie egzemplarzy i otrzymał złoty krążek .


Chociaż Robertson podpisał kontrakt z Capitolem w czasie, gdy wydawał swój największy przebój , następnie podpisał kontrakt z RCA Victor . Wraz z Halem Blairem (z domu Harold Keller Brown; 1915–2001) skomponował lub współtworzył wiele hitów dla innych muzyków, w tym dla Elvisa Presleya, który nagrał kilkanaście piosenek Robertsona, z których pięć pojawiło się w licznych filmach Presleya.  Zmarł w 2015 r.
