Hugo & Luigi

Hugo & Luigi byli amerykańskim zespołem produkującym płyty , składającym się z autorów piosenek i producentów Luigi Creatore i Hugo Perettiego , którzy dzielili biuro w nowojorskim Brill Building . Poza stosunkiem pracy obaj byli kuzynami.


Po raz pierwszy zwrócili na siebie uwagę dzięki singlom wydanym w Mercury Records w połowie lat pięćdziesiątych, a następnie wyprodukowali nagrania Perry Como , Sama Cooke'a i kilku innych artystów RCA Victor , w tym przeboje " Twistin 'the Night Away ", " Another Saturday Night " , „ The Lion Sleeps Tonight ” The Tokens , „ Shout ”, klasyk Isley Brothers i „ I Will Follow Him ” Little Peggy March . Współautorami przeboju Elvisa Presleya „ Can”t Help Falling in Love ”, z George Davidem Weissem . Wyprodukowali także albumy Delli Reese, w tym The Classic Della , zbiór piosenek popowych opartych na klasycznych motywach oraz Waltz With Me, Della , zbiór popularnych piosenek w czasie. Ich utwór „ La Plume de Ma Tante ” osiągnął 29 miejsce na brytyjskiej liście przebojów singli w lipcu 1959 roku. 

Hugo i Luigi byli także niegdyś współwłaścicielami Roulette Records . Piosenki skomponowane przez duet często przypisywano „Markowi Markwellowi”, a nagrane przez nich płyty nosiły odrębne logo. Podczas pobytu w Roulette Hugo i Luigi dokonali serii nagrań tzw. Beautiful Music „Cascading Voices”, a później „Cascading Strings”.

Po założeniu Avco Records i produkcji artystów, takich jak Stylistics w latach 70-tych, Hugo & Luigi założyli nową wytwórnię, H&L Records , którą prowadzili aż do przejścia na emeryturę pod koniec dekady. Peretti (ur. 6 grudnia 1916 r.) zmarł 1 maja 1986 r.  Creatore (ur. 21 grudnia 1921 r.) zmarł 13 grudnia 2015 r.
