Showaddywaddy próbowali początkowo promować, nie bez powodzenia, własne kompozycje, jednak prawdziwą żyłą złota okazała się wersja "Three Steps To Heaven" Eddiego Cochrana (drugie miejsce na liście brytyjskiej), której sukces wyznaczał odtąd nagraniową strategię zespołu. W latach 70-tych do brytyjskiej Top 20 trafiło piętnaście podobnych singli zespołu, po czym płytowa maszynka zablokowała się wraz ze spadkiem hossy na odgrzewany rock'n'roll.
