Coasters

CoastersRozmiar: 7175 bajtów Grupa amerykańska. Powstała w 1955 w Los Angeles w Kalifornii. Utworzyło ją czterech ciemnoskórych wokalistów, znanych m.in. z zespołów The Robins i The Four Flames: Carl Gardner, Bobby Nunn, Billy Guy i Leon Hughes. W 1958 Nunna zastąpił Will "Dub" Jones, a Hughesa - Cornelius Gunter (w 1990 zastrzelony w Las Vegas).
Później wielokrotnie zmieniała skład. W drugiej połowie lat pięćdziesiątych zyskała opinię jednej z lepszych wokalnych grup rhythm'n'bluesowych. Współpracowała wówczas (i ponownie w końcu lat sześćdziesiątych) ze znaną parą twórców przebojów - Mikiem Stollerem i Jerrym Leiberem. Najpopularniejsze nagrania (wszystkie z lat 1957—1959): Searchin', Young Blood, Yakety Yak. Charlie Brown, Along Came Jones. Poison Ivy.
