Coed Records

 George Paxton i Marvin Cane założyli Coed Records, Inc. w Nowym Jorku w 1958 roku i mieli biura pod adresem 1619 Broadway w Brill Building. George Paxton wyprodukował dla tej wytwórni wiele piosenek, z których większość była w stylu grup doo-wop ze Wschodniego Wybrzeża, a niektóre z nich stały się hitami tamtych czasów. 

W latach 1958–1965 do największych zespołów Coed zaliczały się między innymi Crests, Rivieras, Duprees, Harptones, Trade Martin i Adam Wade. Często współpracując z aranżerem i autorem tekstów Fredem Weismantelem, big-bandowe doświadczenie Paxtona szczególnie przydało się w przypadku Duprees, którzy połączyli grupowy wokal z celowo nostalgiczną swingową orkiestrą wspierającą takie hity jak „You Belong to Me” i „Why Don't You Believe Me” Inne ważne wydarzenia to „16 Candles” zespołu The Crests i trzy piosenki z tak zwanej „serii aniołów”, „The Angels Listened In”, „Pretty Little Angel” i „Trouble In Paradise”.

  Ostatnie single Coed Records zostały wydane w 1965 roku. Przyszły współzałożyciel A&M Records, Jerry Moss, rozpoczął karierę muzyczną promując płytę The Crests „16 Candles” dla Coed. W kwietniu 2010 r. katalog Coed Records został przejęty przez firmę Beach Road Music, LLC z siedzibą w Los Angeles zajmującą się zarządzaniem prawami autorskimi. W styczniu 2011 roku Beach Road wydało album From The Vault: The Coed Records Lost Master Tapes Volume 1.
