Harry MacDonough

Harry MacDonough [właściwie John S. MacDonough],ur. 30.03.1871r w Hamilton ,Ontario w Kanadzie,tenor,którego stawiano na drugim miejscu po takim artyście jak Harry Burr wśród wielkich pieśniarzy w okresie przed 1920r. Rozpoczął swoją karierę jako solista chóru kościelnego,a pierwszych nagrań dokonał w 1898r dla Michigan Electric Company w Detroit.Rok póżniej został zaproszony jako drugi tenor do Haydn Quartet razem z Johnem Bielingiem (tenor), SH Dudley'em (baryton) i Williamem F. Hooley'em (bas).


W latach 20-tych odchodzi od śpiewu i koncentruje się na muzycznym biznesie stając się jednym z szefów w Victoria Records.Jako solista i występując w duetach miał przeszło 100 nagrań w pierwszej dziesiątce listy przebojów,w tym #1-Tell Me Pretty Maiden" (duet z Grace Spencer, 1901), "The Tale of the Bumble Bee" (1901), "Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder" (1901), "The Mansion of Aching Hearts" (1902), "In the Sweet Bye and Bye" (duet z Bieling, 1903), "Hiawatha" (1903), "Because You"re You" (duet z Elise Stevenson, 1907), "My Dear" (1907), "Shine On, Harvest Moon" (1909), "Where the River Shannon Flows" (1910), "Every Little Movement" (duet z Lucy Isabelle Marsh, 1910), "In the Valley of Yesterday" (1910), "Down By the Old Mill Stream" (1912), "They Didn"t Believe Me" (duet z Alice Green, 1915) and "The Girl on the Magazine" (1916).

Miał też ponad 60 płyt w Top10 nagranych z Haydn Quartet w tym #1-"Because" (1900), "In the Good Old Summer Time" (1903), "Bedelia" (1904), "Toyland" (z Corrine Morgan, 1904), "Blue Bell" (1904), "Sweet Adeline (You"re the Flower of My Heart)" (1904), "Dearie" (z Corrine Morgan, 1905), "How"d You Like to Spoon With Me?" (z Corrine Morgan, 1906), "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" (z Billy Murray, 1908), "Sunbonnet Sue" (1908), "Put On Your Old Gray Bonnet" (1909) i "By the Light of the Silv"ry Moon" (z Billy Murray, 1910). Zmarł 26 września 1931r.
