Wombles

Twórcą The Wombles był brytyjski producent, aranżer i kompozytor Mike Batt. Jego „podopieczni", człekokształtne istoty z telewizyjnego serialu dla dzieci, opanowały angielskie listy bestsellerów w 1974 r. Przeboje The Wombles, nawiązujące tematycznie do serialu, łączyły zabawę z dydaktyką, propagując ekologię, w tym utylizacje odpadków stosowaną w dzielnicy Wimbledon, w której zamieszkiwał Batt. 

Dzięki piosenkom „The Wombling Song", „Remember You're A Womble" i „Wombling Merry Christmas" fikcyjna grupa stała się prawdziwą gwiazdą sezonu. Ź końcem 1975 r. Battowi zabrakło pomysłów, a jego solowe nagranie „Summertime City" usunęło w cień popisy animowanych partnerów.
