Thomas Rhett Akins Jr. (urodzony 30 marca 1990r)  to amerykański wokalista i autor tekstów country. Jest najstarszym synem piosenkarza Rhetta Akinsa. Rhett wydał sześć albumów studyjnych dla wytwórni Valory Music Big Machine Records: It Goes Like This (2013), Tangled Up (2015),  Life Changes (2017),  Center Point Road (2019) , Country Again: Side A (2021) i Where We Started  (2022). Otrzymał cztery nominacje do nagrody Grammy, a dwa albumy były nominowane w kategorii Najlepszy Album Country w 2017 i 2019 roku.
 
  Jego sześć albumów zaowocowało 21 singlami na listach przebojów Billboard Hot Country i Country Airplay, z czego 17 osiągnęło pierwsze miejsca na liście przebojów: „It Goes Like This”, „Get Me Some of That”, „Make Me Wanna”, „Crash and Burn”, „Die a Happy Man”, „T-Shirt”, „Star of the Show”, „Craving You”, „Unforgettable”, "Marry Me", "Life Changes", "Sixteen", "Remember You Young", "Look What God Gave Her", "Beer Can't Fix", "What's Your Country Song" i „Country Again”.  
 
Oprócz większości własnego materiału Rhett napisał single między innymi dla Jasona Aldeana, Lee Brice'a, Florida Georgia Line, LoCash i Michaela Raya. 
 
  Thomas Rhett jest synem piosenkarza i autora tekstów country Rhetta Akinsa, na zdjęciu w 2019 r. Thomas Rhett Akins Jr. urodził się w Valdosta w stanie Georgia jako syn matki Paige (z domu Braswell) i ojca Rhetta Akinsa. Rhett Akins wydał w latach 90-tych single „That Ain't My Truck” i „Don't Get Me Started”, zanim został autorem tekstów na początku XXI wieku. Wychowywał się w Hendersonville w stanie Tennessee. Dorastał, znając innych piosenkarzy, w tym Tima McGrawa i Brooks & Dunn. Ma jedną młodszą siostrę i dwóch młodszych przyrodnich braci; jeden ze strony matki i jeden ze strony ojca.
 
  Po nauce gry na perkusji w gimnazjum Rhett później wychodził na scenę z ojcem i grał. W szkole średniej był częścią zespołu o nazwie The High Heeled Flip Flops. Rhett studiował komunikację na Uniwersytecie Lipscomb w Nashville w stanie Tennessee.W wieku 20 lat rzucił studia, aby rozpocząć karierę muzyczną. Następnie przyjął kontrakt wydawniczy z Big Machine Label Group na pisanie piosenek.  
 
  Rhett jest współautorem piosenki „I Ain't Ready to Quit” na albumie Jasona Aldeana My Kinda Party z 2010 roku i podpisał kontrakt nagraniowy z oddziałem Valory Music Group firmy Big Machine Records w 2011 roku. Pierwsze 21 tygodni album  spędził  się w pierwszej czterdziestce listy Billboard 200; sprzedał się również w liczbie 1,7 miliona w pierwszych latach premiery. Rhett jest także współautorem singli z 2013 roku „1994” Jasona Aldeana, „Parking Lot Party” Lee Brice’a i „Round Here” zespołu Florida Georgia Line. W tygodniu list przebojów rozpoczynającym się 21 września 2013 r. na liście Country Airplay znalazło się pięć piosenek z pierwszej dziesiątki, których współautorem był Rhett lub jego ojciec, w tym „It Goes Like This”.  
 
 Na początku 2012 roku wydał swój debiutancki singiel „Something to Do with My Hands”, a rok później „Beer with Jesus”. Oba utwory znalazły się w pierwszej trzydziestce list przebojów Hot Country Songs. Jego trzeci singiel „It Goes Like This” znalazł się na szczycie listy Country Airplay, a także zajął 2. miejsce na liście Hot Country Songs. Jego debiutancki album, również zatytułowany It Goes Like This, ukazał się 29 października 2013 roku. Czwarty singiel z albumu, „Get Me Some of That”, stał się drugim singlem Rhetta na pierwszym miejscu na początku 2014 roku. Piąty singiel z albumu, „Make Me Wanna”, został wydany w radiu country 4 sierpnia 2014 roku. Osiągnął numer jeden na liście na liście Country Airplay 7 marca 2015 r. Pomiędzy dwoma singlami Rhett śpiewał gościnnie wraz z Justinem Moore'em w „Small Town Throwdown” Brantleya Gilberta. 
 
  7 kwietnia 2015 roku Rhett wydał nowy singiel zatytułowany „Crash and Burn”, który stał się głównym singlem jego drugiego albumu studyjnego. Album Tangled Up został wydany 25 września. We wrześniu 2015 r. osiągnął pierwsze miejsce na liście Country Airplay. Drugi singiel z albumu, „Die a Happy Man”, został wydany w radiu country 28 września 2015 r. Osiągnął pierwsze miejsce na listach Country Airplay, Hot Country Songs i Kanada na liście krajów w grudniu 2015 r. i styczniu 2016 r. Utrzymywała się na pierwszym miejscu listy Country Airplay przez 8 tygodni, stając się drugą piosenką w historii listy, która to zrobiła. Trzeci singiel z albumu, „T-Shirt”, został wydany w radiu country 16 lutego 2016 r. W czerwcu 2016 r. osiągnął pierwsze miejsce na liście Country Airplay, ale otrzymał słabe recenzje krytyczne, krytykujące jego zawartość liryczną. Czwarty singiel z albumu, „Vacation”, został wydany w radiu country 13 czerwca 2016 r. Piąty singiel z albumu, „Star of the Show”, został wydany w radiu country 3 października 2016 r. 
 
  8 września Rhett wydał swój trzeci album studyjny Life Changes. Zawiera  single „Craving You” z udziałem Maren Morris, „Unforgettable” i „Marry Me”. Utwór tytułowy został wydany jako czwarty singiel z albumu 16 kwietnia 2018 roku. Piątym singlem z albumu był „Sixteen”. 1 marca 2019 roku Rhett wydał „Look What God Gave Her” jako singiel rozpoczynający jego czwarty album studyjny, Center Point Road. Następnego wieczoru w programie Saturday Night Live Rhett wykonał kolejną nową piosenkę z albumu, zatytułowaną „Don't Threaten Me With a Good Time”. Album ukazał się 31 maja.„Remember You Young” był drugim singlem z albumu, a „Beer Can't Fix” z udziałem Jona Pardiego był trzecim singlem.
 
 W 2020 roku Rhett wydał samodzielny singiel „Be a Light”, będący efektem współpracy gwiazd z Rebą McEntire, Hillary Scott, Chrisem Tomlinem i Keithem Urbanem. Cały dochód uzyskany z utworu jest przekazywany na rzecz funduszu MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund. Rhett zdobył tytuł Artysty Roku w konkursie Academy of Country Music Awards 2020 Jest współautorem piosenki „Don't Need the Whiskey” Dallasa Smitha, wydanej w sierpniu 2020 roku.  
 
 W marcu 2021 roku Rhett ogłosił wydanie podwójnego albumu, którego pierwsza część, Country Again: Side A, zostanie wydana 30 kwietnia 2021 roku. Zawiera single „What's Your Country Song” i „Country Again”.   W listopadzie 2021 roku wydał singiel „Slow Down Summer”, który jest głównym singlem z jego szóstego albumu studyjnego Where We Started, wydanego 1 kwietnia 2022 roku. Rhett wydał także w 2022 roku promocyjny singiel zatytułowany „Death Row”, na którym gościnnie wystąpili Tyler Hubbard i Russell Dickerson.  
 
21 października 2022 roku Rhett wydał swoją EPkę Merry Christmas, Y'all. 
 
  Rhett poślubił Lauren Akins (z domu Gregory) 12 października 2012 r. W maju 2017 roku ogłosili, że adoptują córeczkę z Ugandy, która urodziła się 1 listopada 2015 roku i również spodziewa się dziecka. Powitali córkę w sierpniu 2017 r. Ich trzecia córka urodziła się 10 lutego 2020 r. , a czwarta córka 15 listopada 2021 r. Rhett jest chrześcijaninem.
