Brooks & Dunn, amerykański duet wokalno-instrumentalny, w którego skład wchodzili wokaliści Kix
Brooks (ur. 12. V .1955r w Shreveport,Luizjana, USA) oraz Ronnie Dunn (ur. 1. VI. 1953r w Coleman, Teksas, USA). O ich
oszałamiającym sukcesie w dziedzinie muzyki country zadecydowała umiejętność pisania doskonałych piosenek.
Obaj wokaliści próbowali odnieść sukces jako soliści country, jednak dopiero wspólna praca, dzięki pomysłowi Tima
DuBoisa, wiceprezesa wydawnictwa Arista w Nashville, dała rezultaty.K. Brooks wychowywał się w Luizjanie,
gdzie mieszkał w s±siedztwie gwiazdy country,Johnny'ego Hortona.
i kawiarniach.
W połowie lat 70-tych przeniósł się do Nastwille, gdzie szukał
zatrudnienia jako wokalista i autor piosenek. Jego utwory włączył do
repertuaru John Conlee, The Nitty Gritty
Dirt Band oraz grupa Highway 101. Pochodzacy z Teksasu R.
Dunn zaczął grać na gitarze basowej w szkole średniej i szybko został
zawodowym muzykiem.
Duet podpisał kontrakt płytowy w 1991r tym samym roku zadebiutował płytą Brand New Man,
tygodniach
ciągle utrzymywała się na niej.
B.&D.; umieszczali swoje kolejne przeboje na najwyższych
miejscach list bestsellerów; tak było z piosenkami My Next Broken Heart, Neon Moon,Boot Scootin' Boogie, Lost and Found. Druga płyta - Hard Workin' Man - z takimi utworami
jak m.in.
z Europy i Japonii. Dla wielojęzycznej gromady fanów wydali w 1994 zbiór teledysków Rock My World (Country Girl). Pozycję duetu ugruntował kolejny album, tym razem zatytułowany Borderline, opublikowany w 1996r.Dotarł on do pierwszego miejsca listy bestsellerów "Billboardu". B.&D.; pobili w 1996 jeszcze jeden
rekord. W ciągu jednego tygodnia stacje radiowe w USA odtworzyły 5799 razy ich nagranie My Maria.
Brooks & Dunn występują na całym świecie i mimo spadku popularności muzyki country
pod koniec lat 90-tych stanowią nadal wielką atrakcję koncertową.
