Evelyn "Champagne" King

Ur. 1.06.1960r w Bronx, Nowy Jork (USA), Debiutowała jako pracownica fizyczna zwijająca sprzęt po nagraniach w studio Gamble And Huffs Sigma Sound. Właściwie wychowała się w wytwórni, a jej protektorem byt T. Life - zatrudniony w firmie w dziale kompozycji i realizacji nagrań.

T. Lite wyczuł wokalny talent podopiecznej i postanowił zrobić z niej gwiazdę. Pierwszy singel, "Shame", stał się tanecznym przebojem, ale nie wyszedł poza klubowe enklawy. Lepiej powiodło się kolejnym: "I Don't Know If lt's Right", "l'm In Love" i "Love Come Down".

Z początkiem lat 80-tych Evelyn była gwiazdą, ale późniejsze lata nie ugruntowały jej kariery. Album Flirt z 1988 potwierdził powrót do dawnej formy. Obecnie uważana jest za niezłą wykonawczynię piosenek z pogranicza soulu i popu.
