Rosanne Cash

Urodzona 24 maja 1955r,córka słynnego artysty country Johna Casha i jego pierwszej żony Vivian Liberto.Rosanna po rozwodzie rodziców na początku lat 60-tych przeniosła się do matki do południowej Kalifornii.Długi okres nie interesowała się twórczością ojca i w ogóle estradą,aż do czasu ukończenia studów.Przez następne trzy lata występowała podczas tras w chórkach i od czasu do czasu solo.Ciągle niepewna co do swojej muzycznej kariery,grywała jedynie na basie podczas rodzinnych występów,pracując także jako sekretarka w Londynie i intensywnie podróżując.

Po nagraniu w 1978r solowej płyty,jednak niewydanej,podpisuje kontrakt z wytwórnią Columbia i rozpoczyna występy z teksańskim wokalistą i kompozytorem Rodneyem Crowellem.Był on producentem trzech piosenek na jej debiutanckim albumie "Right or Wrong" z 1979r.Trzy sigle z tej płyty trafiły do Top25 listy Billboard,minn. "No Memories Hangin' Round," zaśpiewany w duecie z Bobby Bare.W tym samym roku wychodzi za mąż za Crowella.

W 1981r Cash osiąga komercyjny sukces za sprawą płyty "Seven Year Ache ";z której trzy single uplasowały się na szczycie list przebojów country,a tytułowa piosenka trafiła do Top30 listy pop Billboard.Następny album,Somewhere in the Stars nagrywała będąc już w zaawansowanej ciąży.Niestety nie powtórzył on sukcesu rok wcześniej wydanej poprzedniczki.Po trzyletniej przerwie powraca odnotowując albumem Rhythm and Romance swoje największe artystyczne osiągnięcie.Album był udaną fuzją country i muzyki pop. Trzy single z tej płyty stały się #1 na liście country minn. "I Don't Know Why You Don't Want Me" i cover Tom Petty'ego "Never Be You.".

W 1987r wydaje King's Record Shop nawiązujący do tradycji country,przynoszący kolejne hity na liście country:"The Way We Make a Broken Heart" [hit Johna Hiatta], "Tennessee Flat Top Box" ( hit jej ojca z 1961), "If You Change Your Mind," i "Runaway Train" .W 1989 r wydaje retrospektywny zbiór swoich utworów na płycie Hits 1979-1989,gdzie jedną z kilku nowych piosenek był cover Beatles "I Don't Want to Spoil the Party" .W 1991r małżonkowie rozstają się,a retrospekcją po nieudanym małżeństwie stawił wydany w 1993r album The Wheel.Po trzech latach przerwy wraca do aktywności muzycznej w 1996r.
