Nicholas „Nick” Paul Barker to australijski piosenkarz i gitarzysta, który w marcu 1988 roku założył zespół rockowy, power popowy Nick Barker & the Reptiles. Ich wersja utworu Cockney Rebels „Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me) ” znalazła się w pierwszej trzydziestce na liście singli Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) w listopadzie 1989 r. Umieścili dwa albumy wśród 40 najlepszych albumów na liście albumów ARIA, Goin 'to Pieces (1989) i After the Show (1991). Założył inną grupę, Barker, w 1993 roku, a ich singiel, „Time Bomb”, znalazł się na liście Triple J Hottest 100 w 1994 roku. Był gitarzystą basowym w szeregu zespołów z Melbourne, zaczynając od Curse w latach 1980–1981 i 1982–1983, a latem 1982–1983 grał i nagrywał z Beachouse. W składzie Curse byli także Adrian Chynoweth na gitarze, Nique Needles, John Rowell i Graeme Scott. W latach 1983–1984 przeniósł się do Reptile Smile z Chynowethem i Nickiem Crossem, Rickiem Hawkinsem i Tonym Hawkinsem. Następnie był Freak Power z Chynowethem, Needlesem i Scottem przed dołączeniem do Wreckery, grupy rockowej i bluesowej w grudniu 1985 roku.
