Eddie Miller

Edward Monroe "Eddie" Miller (ur. 10 grudnia 1919r - zm. 11 kwietnia 1977r) był amerykańskim autorem tekstów , w gatunku country .
Urodził się w Camargo, Oklahoma i pracował jako   inżynier kolejnictwa , zanim stał się autorem tekstów. Chociaż nigdy nie wyszedł poza liceum, uczył komponowania na University of Tennessee .

Jego pierwszym opublikowanym utworem, napisanym w połowie lat 30-tych, był "I Love You Honey". W 1946 roku napisał utwór, który miał  stać się jego największym przebojem " Release Me ", choć w pierwszej chwili nie mógł nikogo nakłonić do jego nagrania. W końcu nagrał to sam, i piosenka stała się coverem kilku wokalistów i stał się wielkim hitem.

Był założycielem Country and Western Music Academy w Hollywood , a także współzałożycielem Nashville Songwriters Association International (której pełnił funkcję pierwszego prezydenta, a także kolejną kadencję w prezydium).

Otrzymał nagrody  z Broadcast Music dla "There She Goes" (1954),  "Thanks a Lot" (1964) i "Release Me" (1954, 1962, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1971, 1972, i 1973, a także nagrody za najczęściej wykonywany utwór  w 1968r.

Jego wydawca, Four Star Publishing, dał mu platynową płytę za "Release Me" i "There She Goes".
Napisał operę country "The Legend of Johnny Brown", i operę gospel "It Was Jesus".

"Legend of Johnny Brown" to projekt koncepcji, która  wyprzedza swoje czasy. Została ona wydana przez Tower Records .
Zmarł w Nashville, w stanie Tennessee w wieku 57 lat.
