Pale Fountains

Grupa brytyjska założona z początkiem lat 80. w Liverpoolu. W jej skład wchodzili kompozytor Michael Head (gitara, śpiew), Chris McCaffrey (bas), Thomas Whelan (perkusja) i Andy Diagram, poprzednio w zespołach Dislocation Dance i Diagram Brothers. Ich piosenki nawiązywały stylistycznie do "soft popu", bossa novy, muzyki Beatlesów, Mamas And The Papas i Love, a estradowy wizerunek upamiętnił się dzięki krótkim workowatym spodniom. Po nagraniach dla wytwórni Operation Twilight podpisali lukratywny kontrakt z Virgin, ale nie udało im się zdobyć nawet kultowej renomy.
W 1982 piosenka "Thank You" trafiła zaledwie do pierwszej brytyjskiej pięćdziesiątki.
