Montgomery Gentry

Montgomery Gentry- Gerald Edward (Eddie) Montgomery [ur. 30 września 1963r w Danville/Kentucky] i Troy Gentry [ur. 5 kwietnia 1967r w Lexington/Kentucky] stanowia duet Montgomery Gentry.Eddie i Troy w swoich szczenięcych latach występowali obaj w lokalnych klubach w zespole swoich rodziców.Obaj zaczynali profesjonalne kariery w zespole Early Tymz prowadzonym przez brata Montgomery'go-Johna,w przyszłości gwiazdy country.Na gruzach tego ostatniego powstał Young Country ,gdzie rolę frontmena pełnił John Montgomery.

Po dwóch latach Gentry opuszcza go i kontynuje karierę solową.Wygrał konkurs młodych talentów- Jim Beam National Talent Contest w 1994r i zarabiał na życie otwierając koncerty Patty Loveless,Tracy Byrd i Johna Michaela Montgomery'go [zresztą młodszym bratem Geralda].Nie osiągnowszy sukcesów występując solo,stworzył z Montgomerym duet,który budował swoją bazę koncertami w nocnych klubach Kentucky.Po kręceniu się w okolicy Lexington,podpisują kontrakt z Columbia Records dzieki wysłanemu demo.

Ich debiutancki album Tattoos & Scars wydany w 1999r trafia do Top10 listy country,a na Top20 trafiaja ich single-"Hillbilly Shoes" , "Daddy Won't Sell the Farm," , "Lonely and Gone" i we współpracy z Charlie Danielsem - "All Night Long".Otrzymali nagrodę CMA dla najlepszego duetu roku,po ośmiu latach dominacji Brooks & Dunn.
