Lee Roy Parnell

 Lee Roy Parnell (urodzony 21 grudnia 1956r) jest amerykańskim muzykiem country i bluesa, wokalista, autor tekstów i gitarzysta. Działa od lat 90-tych, nagrał osiem albumów studyjnych, i miał ponad dwadzieścia singli na Billboard Hot Country Singles  (obecnie Hot Country Songs ).
Jego największe przeboje to "What Kind of Fool Do You Think I Am" (1992), " Tender Moment " (1993) i " A Little Bit of You " (1995), z których wszystkie zostały nr 2.
Parnell dokonał zwrotu w latach 2000 wracając do   bluesowego brzmienia jego wczesnych prac, wydając dwa albumy bluesowe w Vanguard Records i Universal South . Oprócz własnej pracy, Parnell grał na gitarze slide i gitarze National na kilku innych nagraniach country  i bluesowych.
Lee Roy Parnell urodził się 21 grudnia 1956r w Abilene w Teksasie , ale wychował w Stephenville w Teksasie .Jego ojciec występował z Bobem Willsem i Parnell dał swój pierwszy występ w wieku sześciu lat    w audycji radiowej Willsa. Parnell grał na gitarze i perkusji w różnych zespołach podczas swoich młodzieńczych lat.  W 1987 roku, przeniósł się do Nashville, Tennessee , gdzie podpisał kontrakt z nowo powstała wytwórnią  Arista Nashville dwa lata później.
Parnell wydał swój debiutancki album dla Arista Records w 1990 roku.Ten album przyniósł trzy  single  "Crocodile Tears", "Oughta Be a Law" i "Family Tree", z których żaden nie trafił na Top 40   Billboard Country Charts .

Nastepny album Love Without Mercy z 1992r był jego przełomem . Chociaż wiodący singiel "The Rock", był daleki od Top 40,ale   kolejne trzy single   osiągnęły Top Ten: "What Kind of Fool Do You Think I Am " był nr 2, tytułowy utwór  nr . 8, a w końcu "Tender Moment" również nr 2.


Jego trzeci album On the Road z 1993r ,był ostatnim jaki  nagrał  dla  Arista przyniósł także dwa   największe hity: utwór tytułowy i "I'm Holding My Own",   nr 6 i nr 3, odpowiednio. Album zawierał także jego  interpretację piosenki Hanka Williamsa  "Take These Chains from My Heart", który Parnell nagrał w duecie z Ronnie Dunn z Brooks & Dunn. Ostatnim singlem z On the Road był "The Power of Love",który  zadebiutował na pozycji 51.


Jego czwarty album We All Get Lucky Sometimes z1995 roku  , był również jego pierwszym w Career Records, a następnie nowo utworzonej spółce zależnej Arista Nashville . Ten album promował singiel "A Little Bit of You" ,trzeci singiel w karierze ,który dotarł do nr 2.Nastepnymi były  nr 12: "When a Woman Loves a Man" (gościnnie wokal z Trishą Yearwood ) "Heart's Desire" nr 3,i inny nr 12 "Giving Water to a Drowning Man". Tytułowy utwór z albumu, który był jego piątym singlem zadebiutował jako nr 46. Album zawierał także instrumentalny "Mama Screw Your Wig On Tight", który był nominowany do nagrody Grammy w 1997 roku za najlepszy  instrumentalny utwór country.

 Album Every Night's a Saturday Night był  jego ostatnim dla Career Records. To był jego pierwszy album od czasu jego debiutu, który nie przyniósł hitu z Top10, a tylko trzy single zostały wydane z niego: "Lucky Me, Lucky You"   nr 35 ",You Can't Get There From Here"   nr 39 (jego ostatni hit Top 40) oraz "All That Matters Anymore"   nr 50.Wraca  do Arista Nashville, gdzie wydał swój ostatni album dla wytwórni Arista, Hits and Highways Ahead w 1999r . Ten album zawierał tylko singiel, "She Won't Be Lonely Long",który zadebiutował jako nr 57,  pod koniec roku.

Parnell podpisał  kontrakt z Vanguard Records w 2000 roku wydając album Tell the Truth. Ten album przyniósł jeden singiel, "South by Southwest",który nie odniósł sukcesu i wkrótce opuścił wytwórnię. Jego ostatni album,Back to the Well,został nagrany w 2006 roku w Universal South Records
Parnell ma troje dzieci: syna Blake'a (1980) córkę Allison (1985) i syna Jacka (2011). Jego brat, Rob Roy Parnell, to wirtuoz harmonijki.
