Belinda Carlisle

Belinda Carlisle urodziła sie 17-tego lipca 1958 w Burbank, California. Była córką Harold 'a Carlisle, inzyniera, i Joanne, gospodyni domowej. Wychowywala sie w sąsiedztwie ludzi średniej klasy. Po szkole wyższej dołączyła sie do małej punkowej grupy the Germs, ale juz po chwili zamiast śpiewać stała sie jej menagerem. Dzieki znajomosciom zawartym jeszcze w the Germs poznała póżniejszą członkinię Go-Go, Jane Wiedlin. Jane i Belinda zdecydowały w 1978 roku założyć swoją grupę - the Go-Gos z Belindą jako vocalem, Jane gitara rytmiczna, Charlotte Caffey na głównej gitarze, Kathy Valentine na basie, i Gina Schock na perkusji. Ich debiutancki album "Beauty and the Beat" osiągnął dużą popularność szczególnie dzięki piosenkom "We Got the Beat" i "Our Lips Are Sealed" i zyskał miano podwójnej platynowej płyty. Następne albumy - 1989 Runaway Horses, 1991 Live Your Life Be Free, 1993 Real, i 2000's Original Gold nie odnotowały już takich sukcesów.
Królowa popu, Belinda próbowała rownież szczęścia w filmie - rolami z 1984 roku - Swing Shift (występują Goldie Hawn i Kurt Russell), oraz przelotnym występem w 1988 w She's Having a Baby i epizodem w Shooting Stars (1996). Belinda komponowała również piosenki do filmów "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", "High School Reunion" i "200 Cigarettes".
