Brass Construction

 Jedna z czołowych grup nurtu disco lat 70. Jej liderem był urodzony w Gujanie Randy Muller, grający na instrumentach klawiszowych. Debiutowali w nowojorskiej dzielnicy Brooklyn pod nazwą Dynamic Soul, wykonując typowo taneczny melanż funka, salsy, reggae, a nawet tradycyjnego jazzu.

 

Pod nową nazwą podpisali w 1975 r. kontrakt z wytwórnią United Artists. W skład zespołu wchodzili saksofoniści: Michael Grudge i Jesse Ward Jnr., trębacze Wayne Parris i Morris Price (trzej pierwsi urodzeni na Jamajce), gitarzysta Joseph Arthur Wong z Trynidadu, basista Wade Williamson oraz Larry Payton (perkusja) i Sandy Billups (instr. perkusyjne).
Pierwszy singel Brass Construction, "Moving", oparty na zaraźliwym rytmie i skąpej wokalizie, trafił na szczyt list rhythm'n'bluesowych i do pierwszej dwudziestki popowych przebojów. Bestsellerami stały się też tematy "Changin", "Ha Cha Cha" i "L-0-V-E-U". Późniejszym singlom wiodło się już gorzej, chociaż drugi album przyczynił się w niemałym stopniu 

do dyskotekowego boomu. Muller komponował i produkował równolegle nagrania nowojorskich grup dyskotekowych Skyy i B.T.Express.
 

W latach 80-tych popularność zespołu przybladła, jednak na fali popularności płytowych remiksów, liczne wersje jej wczesnych przebojów, w tym "Ha Cha Cha (Acieed Mix)", cieszyły się sporym powodzeniem w klubach.
